The design challenge in this expansion project was to combine the contrary demands of providing a new public face to the existing University of Music building, provide a maximum of acoustic quality, and stay within an almost impossible budget of 350 /m3. The project achieves the maximum typological efficiency of the perimeter type: with a double height concert hall at the center all other spaces are grouped around the center while responding to local conditions and spatial requirements.
